About
It has really been my privilege to be able to be involved in the lives of so many wonderful families. I have been practicing pediatrics since 1999. Watching babies grow to be school-aged children and being part of the community they live in has been rewarding. I really love what I do!
Being a pediatrician is so much more than well checks or sick visits in the office. I am truly your child's advocate! I will care for your child in the hospital as a newborn or sick child, or communicate with specialists for them when their care becomes more complicated, and speak with their teachers or counselors at school to advocate for their health and well-being.
At each office visit, I interview both the child and the parent to address their questions and needs. I want to make sure I adequately communicate with both during their visit. Being able to get to the level of a child to communicate and examine them is just one integral piece in forming a bond with your child. It is also getting to know the parents and the entire family, and being an effective communicator with everyone. These are unique qualities that I have and hope to share with you.

I love my daughter pediatrician and the discussion she makes for my baby
Dr. Calkins is wonderful. She consistently encourages and allows input from both my children during their visits. We've been with Westbrook since 2007. Yolanda is equally as wonderful. Her energy and personality are a great fit for pediatrics. My kids are always excited to see her, more importantly they trust her to administer immunizations.
Absolutely the best. Never feel rushed. Genuinely listens and helps. Has been our provider since 2007
Dr. Calkins's has excellent bedside manners and very in tune with what the patient needs. She has always been very kind and caring.
We are so grateful for the care that we received during my daughter's 12 month appointment. Dr Calkins continues to be the best fit as a doctor for our family. We are so grateful for the way she genuinely cares about our girl's health and development. She Is validating, encouraging, and so knowledgeable. We also had an amazing experience with the MA, Nicole. She allowed me to hold my baby in a comfort hold and use buzzy for her vaccines. She was a great listening ear and so kind and gentle in her approach.
